Eastmont Community Center was founded in 1967 in collaboration with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to enhance the quality of life for children, youth, working adults and seniors in low-income families by providing needed education, social services, and health and wellness services that promote personal development and self-sufficiency.
In addition to providing emergency services such as food and clothing, housing, and job search counseling, Eastmont also offers child development services, educational programs for youth, English-as-a Second-Language and Citizenship classes, adult literacy programs and senior services which include hot meals and low-impact exercise activity.
Academia Del Pueblo is an after school education enrichment program for students in grades 1st-4th. Through our partnership with the local elementary schools we are able to effectively target the “at-risk” youth and the children that may just need that extra attention to become successful in their studies. Whether it be homework help, practice in reading, learning through play or simply giving these children a confidence boost, our main goal is to instill in children the importance of education.
Our program offers on: Tutoring and Homework Assistance, Goal Setting, Computer Training, Recreational Activities, Mentoring Services, Field trips, Resources and Referrals
- Our program is open to the community and runs Monday- Thursday from 2:30-4:30pm.
