Neighborhood Assistance

Emergency Food Distribution and Transportation

Eastmont works in collaboration with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and our neighborhood grocery store, TopValu Market to provide food to low-income families.

Food bags may include canned foods, grains, pasta, beans, cereal and fresh produce.  Enrolled families receive bags of food once a month.

  • Food distributions held on Fridays are open to the public (please call us at (323) 726-7998 on Thursdays to confirm Friday distribution).

Food Stamps

In collaboration with DPSS, Eastmont has recently begun to offer food stamps to our community. Those who live in the area and qualify will be assisted by a representative and must complete forms to participate in the service.

  • This service will be provided on site, every Friday from 9am – 12pm

Employment, Family Law, and Health Referrals

Eastmont offers referral to local employment agencies including SER, Proyecto Ayuda, and Worksource.  Health referrals are offered through AltaMed.

  • Walk-ins are welcome, but Eastmont staff recommends prior appointments to be made.

Translation and Income Tax Assistance

With a high percentage of Spanish-only speaking residents in our community, Eastmont encourages our neighborhood residents to bring forms, applications, letters and bills for translation from English to Spanish. Eastmont’s bilingual staff are happy to translate as well as assist in clearing out any confusion and in helping to fill out any important forms.

  • Walk-ins are welcome, but Eastmont staff recommends prior appointments to be made.

To ease the process of completing tax forms, Eastmont also offers income tax preparation assistance. Volunteers who are familiar with the – visit the site and take in each family to assist them in completing their income tax forms, answering any questions and providing an English to Spanish translation.

  • This service is seasonal, offered every Tuesday evening of the months of February-March.  In order to benefit from this service, appointments must be made prior to February.

Wise Buy Thrift Store

The Wise Buy, Eastmont’s thrift store, is open to the public and offers house items and second hand clothing for women, men, and children. With our community’s best interest in mind, Eastmont ensures that all items at The Wise Buy are sold at minimal cost. For those qualifying clients, Eastmont provides emergency clothing vouchers.
